North (N) - Money and Opportunities 

The zone lying between the zone of sex and the zone of healing is the North area - the zone of opportunities and money. What is money? It stands for ‘treasure’.

If we find a gold mine or a diamond mine, is that treasure? We receive something in this world; we add our knowledge to it and give it back to the world. In simple words, treasure is what you give to the world - like a singer has his song.

It is our talent that can become an opportunity, provided the right circumstances exist. Following the logic of this symbolism, treasure is not only what is hidden inside the earth but also the opportunities which can be converted into money.

So, treasure comes to mean all those things that can be converted to fulfilment of desires (like money). Cash is governed through the South-East corner, but the medium to acquire the money is in the North zone. By using our talents, we create treasure that brings us money.

If we paint (and sell), then paintings are our treasure. This is how ancient wisdom may be understood in contemporary terms. In the olden times, people used to do work with their goods to earn their livelihood.

This is North zone governs transactions - in former days, it was the barter system and goods were exchanged. Today, there is the market place, and things are bought and sold using currency. So, whatever goods we produce, we do so to earn money. This chemistry of transformation, the productive capacity, conversion of material into money comes from this zone.

If this zone is healthy, there is plenty of opportunity and money in life. The zone before this enables us to attract the right situations and the following zone, the North-North-East, allows good health to achieve our goals.

The next zone is the area of health. Health is a state where there is normal flow of all things in the exterior and interior worlds. When we give solutions to the world, we serve people. If we can attract them by offering a service or solution that they need then it produces the treasure for us.

Nature has bestowed each human being with some kind of treasure. We have simply to find it within ourselves. Astrology (Jyotish) is quite helpful in this regard and can guide us on what our innate strengths are which can be converted into money.

Apart from connecting us to the treasure or potential within us, this zone also connects us to all the treasures of the world. 

In this context, there is an anecdote about Yogi Kabirdas. While meditating, he received an insight. He later said that he was surprised at how’ the Almighty has put the water on fire’.

He was speaking of the Nabhi chakra (Manipura chakra), because around the solar plexus the Manipura chakra is red in color and has a blue coloured aura around it. This zone (North) has a blue color other. Connected in the sense that blue (North) is the medium to bring in money and red becomes the medium for liquidity (cash in hand).

This gives the means to attract money - the fire element; so, water produces fire. This refers to the elemental combinations in Pranmaya Kosha in the context of energy body (Kundalini and chakras). 

In contemporary times, the North zone is called the zone of money and opportunities. These opportunities arrive only when the neighbouring zones are strong enough to support them. The one preceding it, the zone of attraction supports with its energy, and the next that follows, the zone of health enables it to sustain. So, solutions and attraction are the keys to our treasure.

Whatever useful and profitable we give to the world, we too gain by that much - in the same quantity and quality. So, whenever we feel that opportunities are by - passing us, we must treat this zone.

One of my friends, a learned man, had been working in a company for a long time. He was quite capable of getting a better job or, at the least, a promotion. However, he never got what he asked for. I visited him and surveyed his house.

I noticed a few problems in the North zone. There were red earthen pots in this zone, plus the other zones were also slightly disturbed. He knew his capabilities, and wanted a better job and twice the money that he received at that time. The problem was he never got a call for an interview whenever he applied for a job.

North is the zone of water element. If there are red pots in this zone, then it puts the fire element in the zone of water. This will shrink the money as fire element is responsible for cash in hand. With the appearance of fire and water co-exist in the solar plexus is not repeated in the physical world.

So, I suggested him to place green plants in water bottles in this zone. The colour, (green), and plants represent the air element and growth. I also placed a spot light there. On the third day, after the remedies were in place, he was offered a better job. The interview was successful and within 15 days he joined that company with three times the salary he was getting previously.

   In the same way, if we understand the energy of each zone, and observe how daily life proceeds, we can relate the problems to their respective zones. Then we can set the balance as per the result we desire. They symptoms, if clearly understood will lead to the appropriate remedies.
