South of South-West (SSW) in Vastu: The Zone of Expenditure & Wastage

Zone of Expenditure and Wastage
The South of South-West is the zone of disposal ir visarjan. So it removes all the ‘waste’ and useless things from your life. Lack of this energy means a lot of time, money and efforts being wasted on fruitless and unimportant expenditure, thoughts, functions, actions, discussions and so on.
The energy of this zone drains out all that is useless and unwanted in your life, ensuring a healthy and clean system- much like what the kidneys do in our body.
Wastage: South-South-West
Control Expenditure by Placing Toilet or Dustbin in This zone
The zone of energy expanded in the South-South-West direction is that of disposal’ Unless waste (in all the domains of life) is disposed of, problems will appear in life.
IF there is excessive disposal, that also causes whether it generates on account of being more or less, leads to different troubles, accordingly. If there is less or more disposal, different situations manifest at three levels - Annamaya Kosha, Pranmaya Kosha and Manomaya Kosha.
When the waste matter is not disposed of properly from human body, the body loses its ability to carry out its functions. If the waste disposal increase, then the bowel functions increase; there may be diarrhoea and a feeling of being drained out.
At the opposite end, less or stoppage and a feeling of being stuck or not being able to let go appears. Either way, body and mind suffer by being unable to work properly.
So, this reveals how crucial it is to dispose all waste from the body in the form of sweat and excreta. If this happens in a correctly, in a balanced way, the body will perform well. This corner conducts and affects all disposal activities.
So, it is ideally recommended that a toilet be built in this zone. So, with toilet or sewage or dustbin or garbage here, the disposal activity, on all the three levels, will be in balance. Just like the effects, just described on the level of Physical body, let us now see them in the context of Energy body and mind body.
There is negative and positive pranic energy (prana urja). The former makes the chakras sluggish leading to sluggishness in the entire Physical body and then, a person will procrastinate a lot. In spite of deciding to do something, the execution of that decision does not take place. Such a situation happens when negative energy is not removed from the energy body at the right time, in the right manner.
This zone affects the Manomaya Kosha by creating feelings of guilt, frustration after reminiscing. When decisions are based on past or memories. It hinders growth. This happens when the bed is in the zone of disposal. Then, letting go of things that should happen in the Manomaya Kosha does not happen.
In the field of psychiatry, many experiments are being carried out, and many methods are being carried out, and many methods are being developed just to study the phenomenon of disposal from Manomaya Kosha.
It has been seen that if a person’s bed or work-chair is placed in this zone in his house, any treatment and efforts do not work, and he does not work, and he does not know how to practice ‘let go’. If he is not sitting here, then, he does not require any procedure or treatment. So, by placing the toilet, dustbin, or any other activity of disposal in this zone, the disposal from all the three Koshas happens naturally.
Now, exercise is one method by which the Physical body perspires and removes toxins, but nature has its own system, too. In the same way, nature tries her best to dispose of negative emotions from the mind (manovisarjan).
If anyone stays for too long in this zone, the natural composition of this body will be disturbed. The person may not also keep good health. So,in this way, this zone, conducts the activity of disposal.
When I was studying vastu in Nagpur and learning the technique of space alchemy, at that time, ayurveda was also a subject I learnt in gurukul. My ayurveda teacher used to say that if a person’s stomach was healthy, then, no disease could ever affect him. This is basic understanding in ayurveda.
However, I came across many persons whose stomachs were alright (thanks to medicine and alternative methods),but, who fell prey to diseases. When I analysed their houses, I found them making use of this zone for positive functions, and activities, one way or the other.
Since the base (basic philosophy) of ayurveda, vastu shastra, and yoga is the same– Sankhya Darshan – all the three are perfectly interconnected. Ayurveda is for the body, yoga is for the mind or Manomaya Kosha, and vastu shastra is the science of living.
So, what I found was that even ayurvedic medicine was not able to help those people whose houses did not conform to the (vastu) shastra. The Shastra presumes that all houses have been constructed as per the age-old principle.
In those days, it could not have been otherwise. Rather, it would have been a presumption in ayurveda that, if a person resided in a particular house, then, administration of a particular ayurvedic medicine would help balance his health. Now it is not so in these modern times.
If a zone is not activated or supportive or conducive to good health, then the triggers of diseases will recur and this defence mechanism will not be effective (will not trigger at the first place). On the other hand, if a person is in the zone of strength (pushti) or relaxation, then those negative triggers will be countered automatically.
So, if there is active use of each energy zone, then, the Physical body (Annamaya Kosha) remains healthy. The Pranmaya Kosha, that is, energy or pranic body, kundalini and seven chakras (inside as well as outside the body) — all these remain powerful.
When these are powerful, the Mind body becomes completely strong and perceives information about whatever is desired in life . It perceives in both the conditions – whether it is to get knowledge by perceiving from outside followed by processing and implementing, or to get from inside.
If the zone of disposal is in balance. Then it filters out all the unnecessary information stored in it. So, this zone of disposal, in one way also governs productive outputs, by removing the unwanted or waste. It paves the way for productive outputs, so, this is an extremely important zone.
The practice of life as per the distilled knowledge and productive outputs appeared so,is termed as skill or competence (dakshta) which is the next zone, namely the South-West.
