East Zone – The Zone of Social Associations

The zone of associations is situated in the eastern section of any enclosed space. To live your life meaningfully, you need cooperation from your fellow beings, be it at work, at play or at home. The energy generated by the East zone facilitates this social connectivity. It is the ideal zone for the drawing room.

It ensures that meetings and associations with the external world are fruitful leading to overall growth. This zone provides strength to the social ties that you make, and this in turn guarantees harmonious functioning of your family and a respectable place for you in society.

Drawing or Living Room in This Area Nurtures Your Connectivity with the Wold Outside

Connecting with the right people who support us in fulfilling our purpose is important. The East zone governs successful meetings with such significant people and is a good location for the drawing room (meeting place) in residences, and conference room (meeting palace) in residence, and conference room in offices.

It is the area where after churning out ideas, we meet people who walk alongside us. It is the area  of successful or meaningful meetings and connections with the world. The power creating and governing all these factors is inherent in the East direction.

Think of our own connections with a big organization: is it good or not? It, in fact, is governed by this zone. What is likely to happen if there is a negative effect in this area? We will be saying ‘ We don’t get to meet right people at all’ or ‘we are not able to connect with the type of people we want to’ or ‘We do not have the kind of team we need.’

Connections and associations; success and failure of meetings, and all our interactions with the world (meetings,calls,mails) is all a function of the East zone. Along with this our capacity to create (our creativity) using these aspects (connectivity with outer world) is also governed by the East zone.

If we wish to form an orchestra to compose new music; or a politician tries to connect to the masses, the East zone will provide it. I have seen, in hundreds of examples, that whichever politician, or religious propagandist or Guru, had constructed a toilet in this zone, they lost the elections, or they had to work excessively hard.

The East zone is strongly related to the mind, the Manomaya Kosha. It also has a special rapport with the navel (nabhi) or the Manipura chakra. Whenever this place is disturbed, it leads to what we call ‘displacement of the navel from its normal position; and secondly, the mind is perturbed and swings between an extroverted and introverted state without establishing proper connection with internal or external worlds.

Mind, broadly, works as the connector to connect with both - internal world as well as the outer (external) world.This ability of mind is governed by the East zone; if this ability or connectivity is not developed, then other possibilities of doing and achieving things in life are also affected negatively.

A politician friend, who had won the elections a number of times earlier, was residing in a bungalow  in Delhi for many years. As it normally happens, there were many people associated with him; getting a ticket, winning elections, being popular - all these aspects were absolutely alright in his case.

Neither was it visible in his natal chart that there was any problem, because he used to with the elections. This meant that the work of the 10th house in his chart clearly showed that he would gain promotion, status,fame, victory, so that, too, was fine. 

Many vastu experts saw his chart and said that all was well. He would win elections, but he would not become a Minister. It was clear that the connectivity, whether it was with the decision makers in the Party Command or it was with the basic purpose of winning the elections, was facing obstacles; but how?

His big bungalow had many toilets, one of which was situated in the East zone. I asked him to close just that one toilet in the East. When the next Cabinet expansion occurred, this person was given a ministerial post.
